I’m not a big fan of new year’s resolutions…but when it comes to improving your fitness, I’ll register an exception! There is never anytime like the PRESENT to take steps to improve your fitness.
These should be small, focused attempts to move you in the right direction…don’t start with “lose 100 pounds by March 1!!” Start with things like “eat more fruits and vegetables today”, “walk a mile today”, “do 10 pushups today”…things that you actually can and will do. And then celebrate your success by incrementally increasing your goals for the next week…and the next…and the next…and pretty soon, you will see results!! The best results come slowly…steadily. These will keep you motivated…keep you focused…and be more likely to be permanent!
And while this may sound a bit self-serving, this is where a personal trainer can be a great investment! You need to develop proper form, proper technique, and a comprehensive approach to developing a fitness program that improves your overall quality of life! Find a trainer who fits your personality…who fits your interests…and who can give you that little “umph” to be a better you!! So go ahead…MAKE A NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION! Get fit in the new year…and you’ll never want to go back!!
